What's the difference between singing a song while performing a role and singing in a concert? When I am singing a song in concert, I can put more of an original thought behind it. If I'm in the actual show, it's completely characterized. I love doing both, but in concert it's a little more free. Likewise, when taking on a role, what's the difference between investing and preparing yourself for the theatrical lines as opposed to what you do for a song. Are they similar or different? To me, whether I'm in a scene or a song, it's all the same. The fact is, it's being true in the moment. I love to get songs and lyrics "in my mouth," as I say, so it's like second nature.
