They say a picture is worth a thousand words and, this morning, BroadwayWorld.com has the picture. Kristin Chenoweth, the diminutive 4 foot 11 powerhouse took to the Carnegie Hall stage last night with a brand new program, titled THE EVOLUTION OF A SOPRANO. Directed by Richard Jay-Alexander with musical direction and conducting by Mary-Mitchell Campbell, this show turned out to be the evolution of Kristin Chenoweth, herself. The evening's surprises were unending, including appearances by Chenoweth's touring cast members - Jennifer Diamond, Constantine Germanacos and Johnny Stellard, along with three VERY special guests - composer Andrew Lippa, opera legend Deborah Voigt and boy soprano Sam Poon. At show's end, to the star's total surprise, her Dad, Jerry Chenoweth, walked onto the same stage to present his daughter with flowers. BroadwayWorld.com was given exclusive access to the afternoon's rehearsal, backstage before the show at Carnegnie Hall, the on stage performance and the party celebrating the star's triumph held at New York's Palace Hotel...where there was family, friends and stars aplenty. Here's the debut photo which was taken just moments before she took the legendary stage for an evening that brought her multiple standing ovations, surprises, tears and laughter. Look for BroadwayWorld.com's upcoming features photos, and exclusive footage from this very special night.
